Intensive Russian Strikes Cut Power In Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were hurt while local people in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to water supplies, according to local authorities.

Meanwhile, a young boy was lost their life in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but strong steps - from the United States, Europe and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and applying penalties," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from city authorities.

Local officials said the urban area experienced intense attacks throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.

The attacks succeed periods of air raids in the area, sections of which remain under the control of invading troops.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to identify.

Government officials told journalists that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating more assaults.
